FPSO Vessel
Our professionals were engaged for the provision of expert witness services in a dispute totalling $500mn.
The dispute involved a construction company in an ICC arbitration with a major oil company and related to the delays and additional construction costs in the delivery of a FPSO platform.
119m in height, 330m
long and exceeding
60,000 tonnes
Project
The unit is capable of generating 100 MW of electricity, equivalent to the consumption of a city of 330,000 inhabitants. In addition to the modules, the FPSO also comprises a pipe-rack (structure for piping), helideck, flare and accommodation.
Aquila’s professionals were engaged to provide advice, assistance and expert witness services during arbitral hearings on detailed technical and commercial matters relating to an FPSO in South America.
Construction
Once completed, 15 modules were transported by barges and delivered, where they were hoisted on to the ship’s hull and connected for subsequent commissioning and testing, which finalized the construction of the FPSO.
As the project itself involved about 5,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs and over 16.5m man hours worked, Aquila’s detailed investigations required complex analysis of various trades and productivities at all stages of construction.
The project had
up to 1,500 people on site on any given day
